Question:
When approving field blanks in a lab report, the sample type is correctly set to Field_B. What should the Location Code be set to in this case, should it be left blank or populated with a specific value?
Answer:
For Blanks, the Location Code can be left empty, as it may not have a corresponding physical monitoring location.
However, entering a Location Code for a blank will not cause any issues within ESdat, and in some cases can be desirable if you wish to track where a blank (such as a rinsate blank) was collected.
