Question:

What happens if your device storage is full and you are collecting data including photographs in the field app?

Will the app give an error message that there is insufficient storage on the device to save any further data?

Will I potentially lose information due to insufficient data if there is no error message.

Answer:

Some details on how the storage on the Field App works:

- The storage limit of the app is different from the device itself for general photos taken outside the app.
- This value varies between devices if it is Android or iPhone. For example in my iPhone 8 the storage is 38655mb. This storage is only relevant for the information collected while offline, once the device is synced, the photos are saved.
- there should be an error message, will push that to try to break it will let you know if that fails but there should be enough storage for many photos without a problem.

To validate the storage available on the device you have to go to here

And then validate available storage, in this case I have only used 2726Mb out of the 13463.
