Lab: ESdat Client Requesting for EDD but no clear Project ID

Question:

Client is asking for EDD files but cannot provide clear project ID/Name. What should be done?

Answer:

Using the “right” Project ID / name is not CRITICAL to the upload of lab reports.  It is ideal to get the right details from client, but they can also manually assign the lab report once uploaded (if the project ID isn’t set up in ESdat for example). Ensuring the EDD format meets the requirements is much more important as this cannot be changed/fixed by the client (must be correct from the source).

All EDD inquiries or technical questions should be sent to the ESdat team- not the client, as they are less familiar with the specifications / details of our EDD format (and should not be requesting specific customizations etc to the format since it is standardized for all clients). For context, the ESdat team is notified of ANY “file content errors” for the clients. As a complementary service, we follow up with these upload errors to ensure the lab understands what needs to be fixed for successful upload.
