Question:
| I'm having issues with reissued lab reports. The lab submits a partial report, then a final report. However, once a final report is submitted, I do not see where the partial report went and now there are 2 identical lab reports. Is this a result of the lab sending it twice? And do I delete one of them? |

Answer:Anything "in error" on the Lab uploads page indicates that the data in that Lab Report has not successfully uploaded to your database. Therefore, these final reports have not yet overwritten the partial results that are saved in ESdat.
By clicking into Details & Actions for uploads with the "Lab Report Already in System" error, you can see the message "Lab Report has already been received and approved. It will need to be unapproved before and the lab requested to re-submit." In short, when a lab report with partial results is Approved, this locks the report from editing - preventing a new upload (final Lab Report) from overwriting the partial report. You can leave the partial lab reports as "pending approval" to avoid this issue.
Essentially, since both uploads use the same Lab Report number, ESdat recognizes these as being the same. As long as the lab updates the "Date Reported" in the EDD to be more recent than the first submission, the new submission (final report) will overwrite the partial lab report. Alternatively, the currently loaded report can be rejected for the new report to save in ESdat.
